Eugene H V fURDAY The Disseotiog Justices. NEWS FROM THE FAR NORTH. L L Bales, private mail carrier, has arrived at Seattle from Cape Nome in thirty-five days, tbe reccrd winter or spring trip. He took steamer at Bristol Bay, at tbe southern point of Behring Sea, just above tbe Alaskan peninsula. Bales made the trip in eighteen days of actual travel, havir.g been detained eight days between Nome an 1 Briatol Bay, waiting for mail, and nine days at Bristol B*y awaiting the departure of the steamer, He brought out a great bundle of pr.vste mail and tiles of tbe Nome newspaper extending fiom November to April 6. He brought the first news of Nome since aixtut the first of February, when the last papers from that eejlion arrived out.
