Walker, an Oregon pio neer of the early 40's, died at his home in Zena, Tuesday. The funeral was held today. Cleorge Belt, of Corvallis, is in the city today. George Irvine, of Corvallis, was in the city Wednesday, be ing en route to Seattle. Dislocated Her Shoulder. Mrs. Johauna Soderbolru, of, Fer gus Falls, Miuo., fell aud dislocated her shoulder. he had a surgeon get it back in place as soon as possible, but It was quite sore and pained her very much. In his annual tour of the world jolly old St. Nicholas did not overlook Buena Vista this year. In every Dome there was the usual spirit of the season with the exchange of gifts and the nierry-makiog thai belongs to Christ mas alone. At tjie school house Christmas eve there was a large crowd, a splendid Santa Claus, a hugu tree laden with preseuts, and many happy little faces. The exercises were beyond criticism. They comprised vocal aud instrumen tal music, dialogues by the little folks, etc. ' Prof. B. L. Murphy aud wife, uuder whose direction the Christmas exer cises were giveu, are deserving of much praise, and too much credit can not be giveu the children for the nice manner in w hich they did their part.
