Applications for the Victory mcd-, id for the former members of the ma rine corps should he made to the ma rine corps recruiting station, BOG Panama building, 3rd and Alder streets, Portland. All that is necessary for the appli cant is to forward his honorable dis charge or transfer to inactive list in cae of reservists, to the recruiting station ut the above address. Sug gest that the discharge or transfer certificate be sent forwards nder reg istered mail with a slip enclosed within the envelope containing the applicant's name and address plainly written. The recruiting "station will return the discharge or transfer certificate to the applicant under rgistered mail toglher with the Victory medal. Lambs under shelter made slightly better gains at the Eastern Oregon experiment Station than those fod in the open. From the standpoint of feed reipiircd per 100 pounds of grain the shekred lambs were offered 2.7 per cent less hay, and actually ate 3.2 per cent less hay and 3.5 per cent less grain, than the open lot sheep. O. A. C. 'Animal Husbandry. Alfalfa fertilizer with , sulphur in certain southern and central Oregon soils not only produce a much larger but also a much better and cleaner crop. Motor vehicle owners who have not applied for their 1921 licenses are urged by the Secretary of state to do so at once in order to avoid conges tion in the department around the first of the coming year and also that they may avoid arrest by the peace officers for failure to carry 1921 license plates after January 1st. The law will be rigidly enforced by the inspectors of the department. There are now over 103,000 licensed cars in Oregon. To this time about 9.000 applications for 1921 licenses have been received. The facilities of the department are limited and unless the work involved in issuing licenses is distributed over a reasonable per iod car owners cannot expect to re ceive their license plates promptly. By delay they are improving their chances for arrest for failure to have their 1921 licenses by January 1, 1921. About October 1st blanks were forwarded to all the owners of motor vehicles for applying for 1921 licenses. If any of them failed to receive blanks it has been by reason CI 1 . ' 1 - ..
