Portland Reports of a rich dis covery of copper ore at the mouth of the Rogue river in Curry county have been brought to Portland by Isaac A. Muncy, a member of the legislature for that county and a miner of many years' experience in Oregon. Mr. Muncy has placed 50 pounds of the ore on exhibition. It carries a large percentatge of native copper, and is said to rur. high in gold, platinum and irridium. A spe cimen sample from the croppings on the ledge, upon which only the location work ha been performed, runs $150,000 to the ton. Klamath Falls The dam which crosses the Lost river outlet of Clear lake, the purpose of which is to make that lake the storage reservoir of the Upper Klamath project, has been completed, and water is accu mulating to be carried through dis tributing canals to irrigate the val ley! aleng- the course of Lost river In Oregon, and probably also to ir rigate from the south end of the lake a considerable acreage in Cali fornia. The dam is 35 feet high and 2500 feet long and will increase the area of Clear lake to about 25,000 acres, as a storage reservoir.
