Oregon Roses for President.
President Tafft will be the recipient
this week of a handsome bouquet of
Oregon roses, sent by the manage
agement of the Portland Rose Festi
val. The flowers are in acknowledge
ment of the president's interest in
the festival and his compliance with
the wishes of the management in
touching a button at the White
House on June 7 and formally open
ing the carnival of roses. The bou
quet will be presented by Senators
Bourne and Chamberlain and will no
doubt grace the president's table
upon their arrival.
