Notice is hereby given by the un dersigned taxpayers of Road District Number 3, in the County of Polk, State of Oregon, who are more than ten per cent of the taxpayers of said District, that a meeting of the resi dent taxpayers of said Road District will be held on Saturday, the 29th day of November, in the year 1913, at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M. of said day, at Yoakum's Hall in Perrydale, Oregon, in said Road District for the purpose of voting on the question of whether or not an additional tax shall be levied by the resident tax payers of said district on all the tax able property in said district for road purposes, under the provisions of Sec tion 6321 of Lord's Oregon Laws as amended by Chapter 316, General Laws ot Oregon, 1913. Mrs. Lucus and Prica went to Sa lem last week to do some shopping. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cook were in Independence Saturday attending a meeting of the G. A. R. and the W. R. C. Mrs. Grover Beeler spent Friday with the Cadle family. Mattie and Vern Gibson were over from Salem Saturday attending the bazaar, and visited over Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Burch. Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey were in Dal las Monday, the latter to have her finger dressed, which is improving. OAK DALE Families have moved onto the Hal- lock, Heistand and Hughes places who accounted nine new pupils to our school makingg a total of twenty-two pupils in. all. Roy McDonald was called to Sa eni Tuesday morning on account of his father's sudden death. O. E. Dennis visited his mother in Falls City over Sunday. Clyde Robbins and Estley Farley visited the Dennis boys over Sunday. Mrs. Don Miller is recovering from an attack of Tonsilitis. . Chester Gutherie and family of Gutherie, visited at Joe Murphey's Sunday. Little Ruth Dennis is sick with an attack of Tonsilitis. Mr. and Mrs. Burley and sons re turned from their trip Saturday. He has been to visit his Nebraska ranch and she has been visiting her her uncle in Hood River.. Linga Dennis is at Valley, Wash ington. Jasper Wickham of Hood River has been visiting his nephew, C. J. Bruce and his niece, Mrs. C. A. Burley. OYAL SMITHFIEIiD The Basket Social Saturday night was very well attended. People from Ballston, Broadmead, Perrydale, Rickreall and from this district. $41.01 was gathered, which will be used in buying an organ. Miv and Mrs. Keasen of Dalmany, Sask., arrived here Saturday evening. They will move on the Warkentine farm in Salt Creek. Mr. and Mrs. II. Kliever of Sa- skachewan will be here Thursday with the intention of locating here. There will be a basket social at 'oik, quite a few are going from this district. RED PRAIRIE Mrs. Dodson and Harry Elliots are butchering this week. George Barnum has just moved into his new home in Sheridan. The Perrydale band was in atten dance and gave splendid music. There were about 150 present and the baskets brought high prices, $41 be ing raised to be applied on the organ fund.
