Corbin has announced that he will leave Dallas after the end of the present month. He will preach at the Christian Church as usual, how ever, until the first of August. The members of the missionary society" of the Presbyterian "church and a few Invited friends were delight fully entertained by Mrs. J. G. Vau- Orsdel at an afternoon tea Friday. The citizens of Dallas will meet at the Courthous9 tonight for the purpose of organizing an association for the strict enforcement of the prohibition laws passed in Polk county at the June elections. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. O. V. Plea, of Black Bock, died at the Hotel Gall last night. The funeral was held at the hotel this morning and the remains were buried in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Conductor Webster has secured a vestibule car for the train which makes the afternoon run from Dallas to Portland, and says that if possible, he will make the new improvement a permanent part of his train. Dunn was painfully Injured by falling from the sidewalk aud dislocating Us right shoulder Saturday. The Injury was carefully attended to at once, and the child is recovering nicely. Horace Webster and Robert Lowe returned Saturday evening from a pleasant and successful fishing trip to the Siletz. Mr. Webster reports the trip as having been thoroughly enjoy-' able in all but one particular, and points to the marks on bis face and bands of the bites of the blood-thirsty mosquitoes.
