Place It Is a fact worthy of note that about the only newspapers to Oregon that are boostingSenator Fulton for re-elec tion are those edited by Postmasters. Last Sunday's Oregon Ian contained as much political advertising as all The fifteenth annual State Inter collegiate Oratorical contest was held la the Normal assembly room in Mon mouth, Friday evening. The contest waa one of unusual merit, the orations being of more than ordinary finish, and each orator showing careful work and preparation. The trend of thought was not of the pyrotechnic order, but displayed a knowledge of conditions and a free discussion of the various phases of the affairs of today. The decision of the judges in awarding first place to the University of Oregon met tho approval of all. A banquet was spread in the gym nasi u m after the contest, where covers had been laid for 160 people. Here the college songs, toasts and jollifl cations wore indulged in until the early hours. An orchestra of 15 pieces furnished the music and added much to the evening's pleasure.
