According to apparently reliable reports In the Portland newspapers, millions of dollars will be siieiit in the construction or elnctrlo roads In the Willamette Valley within the next year or two. as planned, the projects will require more than 150 miles of stand-ard-gaugo railway, embracing a main line from Portland to Corvallis, with laterals to Dallas and other points. Whether this project materializes, or not, theday Is not far distant when the Willamotte Valley will ba covered with a network of trolley lines. The com pletion of the elect rlo roud to Sulein nn the East Side and the partial construc tion of the line to IlilUhora on the West Side is only the beginning of the movement to bring every portion of the valley Into closer touch with the metropolis of Oregon. liUblNJiSS LOCALS.
