Metzger, of Dallas College, preached in the Evangelical church in Corvallis, Sunday morning and evening. E. C. Kirkpatrick, W. L. Soehren, B. M. Guy and Judge Sibley went to Portland this afternoon to attend the district convention of the Woodmen of the World. The Polk county W. C. T. U. will open its annual convention in the Dallas M. E. Church next Tuesday evening. Further announcement in Friday's paper. Messrs. Kerslake & White, of the Colosseum rink, desire to announce that all maskers at the carnival will be permitted to skate until midnight Buy your mask and join the merry crowd Thursday night. A big crowd of skaters will attend the Mask Carnival at the Colosseum rink, Thursday night, if the number of masks that are being sold can be taken as an indication. The man agers of the rink are sparing neither pains nor expense to provide enter tainment for the visitors, and all who attend the carnival may rest assured of getting the worth of their money. The baseball game announced to take place between the Dallas and Corvallis teams last Saturday after noon failed to materialize, for the very good reason that no such game had been arranged between the players of the two towns. The Observer an nounced the game in good faith, not knowing that it was being imposed upon. A young man named liryan gave us the item and also handed in a line-up of the players. As his name was among the list, we had no reason to doubt that he knew what he was talking about. It appears, however, that no such game had been arranged between the two teams. All styles. store PIONEERS WILL GATHER Annual Reunion Will Be field in Dallas, Wednesday, July 3.. The annual reunion of the Polk County Pioneer Association will be held iu Dallas, on Wednesday, July 3. This date was decided upon by the Executive Committee last Saturday afternoon. The three members of the committee, T. J. Hayter, G. W. McBee and J. J. Williams were present at the meeting and made all necessary pre liminary arrangements for the reunion. As it Is probable that Dallas will celebrate the Fourth of July this year, it was decided to set the date of the pioneer reunion for the 3d, so that the celebration and reunion may take the form of a two days' publio gathering, such as have often been held in Dallas with great success. Com mittees for the reunion were appointed as follows : Finance Charles Bilyeu, W. G. Vassall, I. N. Woods. Band Music Tom C. Stockwell, U. S. Grant, J. C. Hayter. Reception G. O. Holman, Dr. T. V.
