Dallas, "the town that does things," will celebrate the glorious Fourth of July this year, and all the good people of Polk county will join hands in helping to make the celebration a great and successful affair. Every citizen and business man with whom wo have talked has expressed himself in favor of a celebration, and all are anxious that it shall be given on a scale that will be a credit to Dallas as a live and enterprising town. It is not too early to begin arrang ing for the big event, as much work will necessarily be required to provide a successful day's entertainment. All that is lacking is for some one to make the first move and call the busi ness men together to get the work under way. To accomplish this result, the Observer is going to name Monday evening of next week as the time, and the City Library as the place, for holding this meeting. If nonobjections are heard to this plan, we will see that handbills announcing the meeting place and hour are dis tributed among the business bouses. Every business man and patriotic citizen in Dallas should attend this meetiDg and lend aid and encourage ment to the work. If each man does liis share, the result will be a cele bration of which the people, not only of Dallas, but of the entire county, will be proud. Wagon For Sale. Good 3 farm wagon for salo. Such an officer is needed to inspect all construction work, and especially the plumbing of buildings. The importance of sani tary plumbing is apparent to all, and it is also important that all plumbing should conform to fixed rules and reg ulations in order to be of a uniform standard throughout the city. The only difficulty likely to beencountered in a town of this size will be in finding a capable man to do the work at a price the town can afford to pay.
