COMMISSIONERS' COURT The county commissioners held an adjourned term of court Tuesday and Wednesday and disposed or con siderable accumulated business. All of the members of the court were present at the session. J. B. Nunn, of Dallas, was appoint ed Fruit Inspector for Polk County, This office was created by the last Legislature. The Inspector will re ceive a sum not exceeding $3 a day for each and every day actually em nloveri In the performance of his i - duties. The sum of $100 was transferred from the general road fund to Road District No. 18. The appointment of J. A. Hannum. I. H. Fream, D. C. Harris and T. B. Masters as Fire Rangers was approved Bids for the construction of the Sid ney bridge were opened as follows: Teal & Mehrling, $410.50; Thurston & Gilbert, $297.85; Royal & & Son, $2.50 ner lineal foot. The contract was awarded to Thurston & Gilbert. The contract for inuking a fill south of Independence was awarded to Thurston & Gilbert, their bid being 19 cents nor cublo vard.
