PolK County Observer J. C. IIAYTER, EDITOR AND PUULISHER. PnbliBlisrt Weekly at Sl.50 per Ycni. Strictly in Advance. DALLAS, OREGON, May 0, 1901. The way to build up Dallas is to pal roniie Dallas people. Republican State Ticket. Supreme Judge, F. A. MOORE. Dairy and Food Commissioner, J. W. BAILEY. First Congressional District. Congressman, BINGEB HERMANN. Third Judicial District. Circuit Judges, GEORGE H. BURNETT. B. L. EDDY. District Attorney, JOHN II. McNAltY. Twelfth Representative District. Joint Representative, J. S. COOPER. Republican County Ticket. State Senator, U. S. LOUGHARY. Representative, D. L. KEYT. County Judge, ED. F. COAD. Commissioner, WILLIAM RIDDELL. County Clerk, E. M. SMITH. Sheriff, M. SCRAFFORD. Assessor, C. S. GRAVES. School Superintendent, C. L. STARR. Treasurer, J. T. BEEZLEY. Surveyor, J. P. VANORSDEL. Corouor, R. L. CHAPMAN. Some of the leaders in the present campaign are in an ill-concealed sweat because all the .Republicans in the county are not standing in and endorsing their methods ol conducting politics. "Stand in and help us," they cry; "of course, we rubbed it into vou just as hard as we knew how, and are doing it vet. but vou ought to stand in with us, anyhow." Morning, noon and niaht. dav in and dav out, this is the burden of their song. Some of these leaders and one or two or the candidates seem to have forgotten how they failed to "stand in" with certain Republican candidates two years ago with George Hawkins for instance, lhey have evidently fnicntten how thev fought Mr. Hawkins right up to the day of election and did everything in their power to bring about his defeat. Two years ago Mr. Hawkins' friends made it a point in the convention to see that the minority was given liberal recognition in the make-up of every committee- and in the election of delegates to the state and congressional conventions. The men who had supported Mr. Keyt were treated with kindness and consideration, and in every act of the convention that courtesy was shown them that is due from the victors to the vanquished in a con test between brothers of the same political faith. Some of the leaders who were given this recognition two years ago have lost no oppor tunity to bully and brow-beat the minority this year, and all tie time they are asking the minority to endorse their leadership and "stand in." Such an exhibition of gall would be amusing, if it were not disgusting. The men who compose the minority this year will probably vote as much of the Rep ildican ticket as will some of these newly-hatched bosses who are doing so much talking, and awhole lot more of it than these bosses would have voted had they suc ceeded in their scheme to dictate the Democratic nominations for trading purposes. A review of the campaign of two years ago, show- Jill Humors Arc itnpuro matters which the f-'Kin, liver, kidneys and other organs ca:i not t:;ke care of without help, there is such uu accumulation of t'.ioin. They litter the wholo system. Pimples, boilx, eczema and other eruptions, lass of appetite, that tired feeling, bilious turns, fits of indiges tion, dull headaches and many other troubles are due to them. Hood's Sarsaparilla and Pills Remove all humors, overcome all their effects, strengthen, tone and invigorate the wholo syelem. "I had Mlt rheum on my handa to that I coe.'.l not wit!:. I took Hood's Sanripariila and It drove out the humor. I continutd its use till the sores disappeared." Mrs. Iba O. Bbown, Kumford Falls, Me. Hood's Sarsaparilla promises to cure and keeps trio promise. r ... ing the prominent part taken by a few of this year's leaders in the effort to defeat George Hawkins for Representative, would make interesting reading, and some day when we are long on space and short on local news, we may regale our readers with a few chapters of it. It is a scientific fact that all cases ol heart disease, not organic, are not only traceable to, but re the direct result of lndl- gestion. All food taken into the stomach Which fails of perfect digestion ferments and swells the stomach, puffing it up against the heart. This interferes with the action ol the heart, and in the course of time thai delicate but vital organ becomes diseased. Mr. D.
