Polk County Sports 14A Polk County Itemizer-Observer • September 27, 2017 Panthers: Central plays rival Dallas Friday at 7 p.m. Continued from Page 12A Those rare moments he’s on the sidelines, he’s shout- ing support, urging those around him to cheer and support. “Caleb is our most vocal player and takes a big part in getting players ready to play,” Hedrick said. The senior makes it a point to be an emotional spark for the Panthers each time they step onto the field. “As a player and a leader, I get emotional and some- times I’m not the best leader, but I try and work on it and improve.” Sedlacek will try and help Central bounce back after a 24-7 loss to South Albany on Friday. The Panthers saw a touchdown called back due to a holding penalty, a run inside the 5-yard line called back due to holding, and four turnovers, includ- ing an interception in the Rebels’ end zone, that kept Central from mounting a comeback. “I saw a South Albany LUKAS EGGEN/Itemizer-Observer Central running back Hunter Chase (29) breaks free during the Panthers’ 24-7 loss to South Albany on Friday night. team that was ready to play and a Central that was not,” Sedlacek said. “No excuses. The trio continued to push each other to be the best linemen they can be. “Brad has crazy tech- nique,” Dizon said. “He can maintain a block and hold it down. Ron is just a load. He’s a physical, tough player. When you need 2 yards, Ron is there.” The admiration is mutual. “Bryson, no matter where he plays, always locks down his guy,” Rose said. Now the trio is looking to enjoy their final year togeth- er at Western. “It feels like we just came here yesterday,” Dizon said. “We now this is our last year of guaranteed football, and you always want to leave on a good note.” WOU will have to recover from a heartbreaker.
