player and takes a big part in
getting players ready to
play,” Hedrick said.
The senior makes it a
point to be an emotional
spark for the Panthers each
time they step onto the
field.
“As a player and a leader,
I get emotional and some-
times I’m not the best
leader, but I try and work
on it and improve.”
Sedlacek will try and help

Dizon said.
The trio continued to
push each other to be the
best linemen they can be.
“Brad has crazy tech-
nique,” Dizon said. “He can
maintain a block and hold it
down. Ron is just a load. He’s
a physical, tough player.
When you need 2 yards, Ron
is there.”
The admiration is mutual.
“Bryson, no matter where
he plays, always locks down
his guy,” Rose said.
Now the trio is looking to
enjoy their final year togeth-
er at Western.
“It feels like we just came
here yesterday,” Dizon said.
“We now this is our last year
of guaranteed football, and
you always want to leave on
a good note.”
WOU will have to recover
from a heartbreaker.
The Wolves lost to Hum-
boldt State on Saturday,
falling 49-48 in overtime.
Western Oregon built a
28-14 lead, thanks in part to
three touchdowns in the

Humboldt State scored a
touchdown to open over-
time. Paul Revis answered
with a 30-yard touchdown
reception, but the extra
point attempt was no good,
ending the game.
Quarterback Nick Duck-
worth finished the game
with 382 yards and four
touchdowns. Sweet had 24
carries for 111 yards and
three touchdowns, and Revis
recorded 15 catches for 176
yards and two touchdowns.
Western Oregon plays at
Azusa Pacific Saturday at 6
p.m.
Hunter Chase finished
with six carries for 71 yards
and a touchdown.
Central (2-2 overall) plays
at Dallas Friday at 7 p.m.

FINN ROCK — Perry-
dale’s football team defeat-
ed McKenzie 76-14 on Fri-
day.
Running back Cooper
Butler rushed for 250 yards
and five touchdowns. Josh
Crawford recorded 145
rushing yards and three
touchdowns, and quarter-
back David Domes threw
for 121 yards and two
touchdowns.
Dustin Silver scored two
touchdowns, including a
95-yard fumble recovery.
Butler had 14 tackles on
defense. J.J. Avila recorded
11 tackles and one intercep-
tion.
Perrydale hosts Dufur
Friday at 7 p.m.

FC volleyball wins two

FALLS CITY — Falls City’s
volleyball team won two of
three matches. The Moun-
taineers defeated C.S. Lewis
25-9, 25-20, 25-7 on Sept. 20
and Siletz Valley 25-22, 25-
19, 12-25, 16-25, 15-12 on
Monday.
“The girls are working
hard and steadily improv-
ing their physical and men-
tal toughness,” coach Roxi
Barnhart said.
Falls City (4-6 overall)
played Perrydale Tuesday
after press time. The Moun-
taineers host Crosshill Chris-
tian Thursday at 6 p.m. be-
fore playing at Livingstone
Adventist Tuesday at 6 p.m.
