Junior Tanner Omlid scored a team-high 19 points to lead the Wolves. S e n i o r Ya n i c k K u l i c h added 13 points and junior Omlid Ali Faruq- Bey scored 12. W O U lost to the University of Oregon 93-54 on Nov. 30 in a nonleague contest. WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SPLITS CONFERENCE MATCHUPS: Western Oregon’s women’s basketball team lost to Seattle Pacific 68-59 on Thursday before defeating Saint Martin’s 70-56 on Satur- day. Junior Shelby Snook led the Wolves with 19 points against Seattle Pacific, helping WOU Snook enter half- time tied at 34. The Fal- c o n s outscored the Wolves by 10 in the third quar- ter to pull away for the win. Itemizer-Observer staff report INDEPENDENCE — For much of the first half of its season-opener against Gre- sham, Central’s girls basket- ball team seemed tense.
