Jane Kirkpatrick to visit Dallas Library Author and motivational speaker Jane Kirkpatrick will visit the Dallas Public Library, 950 Main St., Dal- las, Thursday at 6 p.m. She will present her book, “The Power of Stories in Our Lives.” Kirkpatrick has written 24 novels and five non-fic- tion titles, creating stories from the lives of actual his- torical women or events to tell that inspire. Her works have sold more than a mil- lion copies, won literary awards and has earned a spot on the New York Times bestsellers list. Kirkpatrick will sign books after her presentation. Her books will be available for pur- chase. Grace Church to host conference Grace Church, 598 E. El- lendale, Dallas, will host the IF: Gathering women’s con- ference on Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no cost to at- tend. Walk-ins are welcome. The wheels were lost in a simulated tornado, one of many “fates” suffered by the brave souls who traversed the Oregon Trail on Friday. The trail went from IES down to Riverview Park and back to school. held Feb. 5-6. Grange Hall hosts model train show Rickreall Fire will host a pancake breakfast Sunday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rickreall Fire Department at the corner of Highway 99 and Church Street. Breakfast includes pan- cakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice, coffee and milk. Fire truck rides will also be available. Cost is $6 for adults and Rickreall Grange Hall, 280 Main St., Rickreall, will host the Model Train Swap Meet and Show on Saturday and Sunday. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Cost is $5. Children 12 and younger are free. RFD pancake breakfast Sunday $4 for kids. Children 6 and younger eat free. Adopt-A-Road cleanup day May 7 The Polk County Public Works Department will hold an Adopt-A-Road cleanup day on May 7. Groups that are active members of the program are asked to pick up sup- plies the week before the event. Disposal bags and safety equipment will also be provided at that time.
