Music Jam will celebrate the
music from the movies and
stage musicals on Thursday
at 6:30 p.m.

Jane Kirkpatrick to
visit Dallas Library
Author and motivational
speaker Jane Kirkpatrick
will visit the Dallas Public
Library, 950 Main St., Dal-
las, Thursday at 6 p.m. She
will present her book, “The
Power of Stories in Our
Lives.”
Kirkpatrick has written
24 novels and five non-fic-
tion titles, creating stories
from the lives of actual his-
torical women or events to
tell that inspire. Her works
have sold more than a mil-
lion copies, won literary
awards and has earned a
spot on the New York Times
bestsellers list. Kirkpatrick
will sign books after her
presentation. Her books
will be available for pur-
chase.

host conference

IF: Gathering women’s con-
ference on Friday from 6:30

Grange Hall hosts
model train show
Rickreall Fire will host a
pancake breakfast Sunday
from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the
Rickreall Fire Department
at the corner of Highway 99
and Church Street.
Breakfast includes pan-
cakes, eggs, sausage, orange
juice, coffee and milk.
Fire truck rides will also
be available.
Cost is $6 for adults and

the Model Train Swap Meet
and Show on Saturday and
Sunday. The show runs
from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each

The Polk County Public
Works Department will
hold an Adopt-A-Road
cleanup day on May 7.
Groups that are active
members of the program

safety equipment will also
be provided at that time.
