Trailing Willamette Val- ley Christian by eight, the Pirates outscored WVC 22-8 in the fourth quarter to earn a 39-33 win on Saturday — and a trip to the OSAA Class 1A state playoffs. “We remembered in the fourth quarter what makes our team success- ful: attacking the basket Janesofsky a n d playing w i t h physi- cality,” Perr y- d a l e coach Mi k e Lowr y said. Spencer Bibler scored a game-high 14 points — all in the second half — and went eight-for-eight from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. Haylen Janesofsky added 12 points. Kim Savage, a fourth-de- gree black belt, will teach the class. Savage has been teaching since 1994. Cost is $49 per month for two half-hour classes per week. A uniform will be in- cluded. Deadline to register is Friday so uniforms can be ordered. Payment is due with registration. Classes are broken down by age group. K-2 (3:15 to 3:45 p.m.), third- through ifth-graders (4 to 4:30 p.m.) and adults (6 to 6:30 p.m.) will meet Mondays and Wednesdays. Tuipulotu finish from Opeti Tuipulotu (220). “I wanted to show my family members that I could do this and show my team- mates who I am,” Negrete said. “My coaches and my Negrete family taught me everything I know about wrestling, and I knew if I placed higher in districts I’d have a great chance at placing state.” All three of Central’s district champions enter the state wrestling championships this weekend with something to prove.
