Download a registration form at extension.oregon- state.edu/polk/mg. ‘Lost in Yonkers’ to debut at Pentacle Neil Simon’s musical “Lost in Yonkers,” will be performed at the Pentacle Theatre in Salem beginning Friday. The show will run through Sept. 12. The coming-of-age tale is set in New York in 1942. Ticket prices vary by day and seat. The Pentacle Theatre is located at 354 52 Ave. NW in Salem. The orchestra, which is based in Monmouth, will collaborate with the Albany String Orchestra for the concert, which begins at 7 p.m. at Monteith Park in Al- bany. The concert will feature music from TV, movies and EMILY MENTZER/ Itemizer-Observer Workers sand the tower on Friday morning at the Cooper Building in Independence and cover some sections with primer. The building is getting ready to be painted a tradi- tional blue-gray. The building has been under construction during restoration. Broadway, in addition to some patriotic and classical tunes. A potluck and picnic for orchestra members, their families and other interest- ed parties will begin at 5 p.m. The New Horizons Willamette Valley Orchestra began last fall. Pacific Power hosts energy workshop Pacific Power invites cus- tomers to a free energy workshop on Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The workshop will take place at BeckenRidge Vine- yard, 300 Ruben Boise Road in Dallas. Among the topics that will be discussed include no-cost/low-cost ways to save energy; different types of heating and cooling equipment; differences be- tween incandescent, CFL and LED lighting; and cash incentives for home energy improvements. Parrish to speak at Jefferson Lodge Jefferson Lodge, located at 664 SE Jefferson St. in Dallas, will host Duane Par- rish, a speaker, preacher and saxophone player, on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Parrish will share the story of what happened in his life when he was ready to commit suicide, how his talents were restored and what he lived through for seven years to get there. DUMC hosts Dallas Family Night Out Dallas United Methodist Church will host the fourth annual Dallas Family Night Out on Aug. 26 from 3 to 7 p.m. The event will help Dallas families get ready for back to school, providing back- packs, supplies, haircuts, clothing, immunizations, and resource information. Free dinner will be provided by El Pique restaurant and James2 Community Kitchen. There will be p r i z e s, g i v e a w a y s a n d games for families. Scrub, shoe sale to benefit students West Valley Hospital Vol- unteer Services will host a scrub and shoe sale from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fri- day in the hospital’s main conference room, 525 SE Washington St., Dallas. The sale will include pants, tops, jackets and shoes for work and home. Brands include Dansko, Klogs, UGG, Birkenstock, Cherokee and Skechers. REUNION ROUNDUP • Dallas High School Class of 1960 — Dallas High School Class of 1960 will host its 55th reunion on Sept. 11 through 13. Reser- vations are due by Aug. 15. Sept 11 will be a potluck from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dallas City Park, old section. On Sept. 12, the group will meet at 5 p.m. for social hour at Pressed Coffee & Wine Bar, followed by a buffet din- ner at 5:30. A brunch will be on Sept. 13 at Murphy’s.
