Ile j says he found his lemon aud orauge orchards iu good condition | although the season has been very dry there, the recent rains here not having extended so far south. Mr. Sanders says haying will com mence down there n ex t week with a fair crop prospect. He brought to the Leader office two boxes of fine Lam bert cherries and some orauges picked from his own trees and they are very fine both iu ap pearance aud flavor. Mr. Sanders expects to complete his orchard work iu this vicinity n ex t week aud will then return home. He is offered a tem pting price for his 40 acre lemon and orauge orchard aud in case he should accept it, he will probably buy a suitable tract I here and put out a good w inter I apple orchard. Moral, buy at home and save money. 5tf T h e grad u atin g exercises at the Royal Interm ediate school a few miles east of th is city, were larg e ly attended F riday evening and the graduates from the various d e partm ents of th e school acquitted themselves adm irably, reflecting m uch credit upon themselves as well as upon their efficient in- sttuctor and principal of the school, Prof. G. E. Johuson. At the conclusion of the exercises, a fund was raised to m ake required improvements about the school, which fund was all subscribed e x cept about $200 or $250, which unless forthcom ing the school is liable to be taken to Roseburg or | some other point farther south.
