H. II. Collier, well known to Cot­
tage Grove and all other Oregon
poultrymeu:
“ Harry If. Collier, of this city,
has l>eeu nominated for a member­
ship of the executive committee of
the American Poultry association.
The American Poultry association
is one of the largest livestock asso­
ciations in America. It makes the
standard for all “ purebred” varie
ties of poultry and it takes in the
whole American continent, not
only the United States and Canada
but the standard issue by the or­
ganization is recoguized all over
the civilized world.
The American Poultry associa­
tion meets annually and for the
last two years has held its sessions
in Niagara Falls, New York. The
annual meeting will be held in
that city during the mouth of
August, this summer.
Mr. Collier has been an active
member of the organization for
years and he is licensed to judge
poultry, all varieties as recognized
by the American standard. He
has been a poultry judge of promi­
nence for the last fifteen years and
he judges a greater portion of the
poultry shows iu the Pacific North
west and, unlike the prophet of
old, be has lieeu recognized in his
own city where be judged the T a ­
coma Poultry show for three years
in succession, lie has been a res­
ident of Tacoma for twenty years,
having followed the poultry busi­
ness, along with newspaper work.”
Judge Collier has lieeu engaged
to place the awards at Cottage
Grove’s big poultry show again
this coming winter.
