Use salt and water. Apply with a brush
and then rub dry.
Wet the marks with oil of vitriol, let it
remain fifteen or twenty minutes, then
wash off and rub dry with a soft cloth.

Enameling a zinc bath tub would be
labor thrown away. I have seen these
tubs painted with an enamel paint, but
even then they are far from clean and not
sanitary. This enamel paint is best used
on a foundation of iron, when, with great
care, it nlay be kept presentable.
I put rose leaves in paper bags, where
they dry and retain a delicious perfume.
Some people use salt. In making a rose
jar salt is always added to the accumulat­
ing leaves.
Soften and remove the paint with tur­
pentine, then cleanse the <pot with soft,
warm water and a pure soap.
