T lie oil used by us costs, delivered, 2 2-10 cents per gallon. A car contains about 0.000 gallons, th ere fore costing about >200 per carload on sidetrack. The best result Is olt- taim sl by clearing your roadbed clean of any ami all old wornout m aterial, putting ou a thin canting o f screened gravel or screenings, and then M-et- ting with oil, putting on about 1,000 gallons of oil per mile, w ettin g the road about eight feet wide.
