Reilly Kelty led the way for the Lions with 19 points and nine rebounds. Tara Child and Maria Pardee each had fi ve steals for Cottage Grove. North Douglas Girls Basketball (7-1) Led by the trio of Ri- lie-Jo Olds, Payton Black and Sofi a Alcantar with 11, 10 and nine points re- spectively, the Warriors defeated Triangle Lake 51-28. Abby Whipple add- ed eight rebounds, seven steals and six points for the Warriors. On Saturday North Douglas beat Mohawk 65- 28. Whipple had 13 points, Alcantar 12 points and nine steals and Olds had 11 points and 10 rebounds. North Douglas Boys Bas- ketball (6-2) Last Friday the Warriors beat the Cottage Grove JV team 63-59. On Saturday the Warriors beat Mohawk 75-47. Elkton Girls Basketball (7-1) Last Tuesday the Elks It was all-Oakland Tuesday night in Drain as the Oakers rolled past North Douglas 67- 33. “They’re a pretty good team. We couldn’t get a shot to fall tonight, though. But they are a good team for sure,” said War- riors head coach Tyler Vancil. The Oakers (5-1), currently ranked in the top-10 at the 2A classifi cation, used a balanced scoring attack to build an ear- ly lead they never looked back from. The Warriors (6-2)scored beat Riddle 55-11 at home. Alexis Halstead had 12 points and nine rebounds. On Friday, Elkton beat Mohawk 68-34 with 24 points from Hannah Max- well and Aspyn Luzier had 14 points and 11 rebounds. On Saturday Maxwell led the team past Triangle Lake 67-35 and had a tri- ple-double with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals. Elkton Boys Basketball (2-6) Last Saturday the Elks beat the Cottage Grove JV team 62-44. Brad Doudna led Elkton with 21 points while Jesse Abraham and Spencer Moore each had 12. Aliyus Underwood had 14 points for the Lions. 3B their fi rst basket of the game with 1:10 left in the fi rst quar- ter and at the completion of the quarter, the Oakers led 14-3 and continued to surge as they found themselves up 38-11 at halftime. A third quarter 10-3 run for the Warriors cut the lead to 22 points. The Oakers were not done and in the closing minutes of the game hit three pointers on three straight possessions. Jake Gerrard and Koldan Frieze each scored 10 points for North Douglas. “This loss doesn’t matter, it’s not league. League’s what mat- ters. We take this loss and build off of it and we come to practice tomorrow and practice hard for our next game,” said Vancil.
