4B COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL DECEMBER 6, 2017 High school sports recap A look back at the busy week of high school sports in the area Cottage Grove Wrestling Last Saturday the team trav- elled to the Perry Burlison Wrestling Classic at Cascade High School. Nine wrestlers for the Lions competed and the team fi nished 16th of the 24 teams at the tournament. The top performer for the Lions was Adam Lamb who wrestled in the 285 weight class. Lamb won his opening three matches to get to the championship where he fell to Crescent Valley’s Bran- don Lareau. Yoncalla Boys Basketball (3- 0) Last Wednesday the Eagles began their season with a 60- 46 home victory over Mohawk. Over the weekend the team trav- elled to the Tom Page Cougar Classic at Crow High School where they defeated Eddyville Charter 55-44 and Elphian 50- 38. Yoncalla Girls Basketball (1- 2) Last Wednesday at home the Eagles lost to Mohawk. Shanau- si Hardy led the team with 12 points. At the Crow tournament last weekend, the Eagles fell to Mohawk 61-28 and defeated Delphian’s JV team 52-38.
