COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL July 8, 2015 B EYOND THE G ROVE BRIEFS FROM BEYOND Impactful news from Lane County and surrounding communities Drain man arrested on charge of murdering girlfriend T he Douglas County Sheriff’s Offi ce says the boyfriend of a deceased woman has been arrested on a murder charge and is lodged at the Douglas Coun- ty Jail in Roseburg. The Sheriff’s Offi ce communications department stated that, at 5:35 a.m. Sat- urday, it received a call from an employee at the Drain Shell station indicated that a male there had requested help for a fe- male who was bleeding at a residence in the 400 block of B Avenue in Drain. At the scene, Sheriff’s deputies and medics encountered Gregory Solberg, who reportedly told them that Tonya Ful- len was in the residence and deceased, a claim police later confi rmed. The Sher- iff’s Deputy judged the scene to be suspi- cious, according to a Saturday Oregonian article. Detectives from the Oregon State Po- lice department and the Douglas County Medical Examiner were called to the scene, and the initial indication ruled the death a homicide. After an interview with Solberg, he was reportedly arrested and booked on a charge of murder and lodged at the Doug- las County Jail.
