Close to the ticket window in the lepot is a glass globe which bears above it the legend, “ For the Albertina Kerr Home.” This globe was placed there by the Women’s Bible Clues o f the Baptist church o f this city, though the home itself is entirely nonseetarian, and the nickels and dimes which arc slipped into it eventually And their way to Port land where the home is located and go to help take care o f the babies o f aban doned and destitute mothers. The home s maintained by the Pacific Coast Res cue and Protective Society, a purely nonsectarian organization for the bet terment o f men, women nnd children on the coast.
