Particular exception has been taken by the Lane county delegation to Lee M. Travis o f Eugene, a democratic war horse o f Lane county, and other 'egislators, upon learning the reasons for the delegation being opposed to him have joined with them in protesting. Generally the legislators seem dissatis fied also with the other members and have decided that the wisest course to pursue ia to limit the governor’s ap pointing power. This will likely be done by allowing the governor to ap- point a certain nnmber, aud the firesi- dent and the speaker o f the house to appoint.
