Riggs,and thinking that perhaps a little comment upon the way they were packed might be a benefit to the fruit raisers, hereby a few lines . They were a much better apple than we are accustomed to getting here, large aound Baldwins, but owing to packing solely their condition was about 60 per cent less as estimated by dealers, or a 60 per cent discount from standard price, which is about 10 cents per pound here. The whole trouble was in bending the top in over a too full box. The cover was over an inch high in the cen ter.
