the noon hour arrived, the tables were
found spread with the good things p re­
pared and bro u g h t in hy the m atrons
for the tilling and s tr e n g t h ning of
the inner man. A very pleasant und
enjoyable hour was passed in the b an ­
quet room, a l t e r tins the G runge was
again assembled at I :30 p. rn. and the
discussion renew ed a l g r e a t length.
The auhjeets were for the b e t te r m e n t of
everyone concerned, and there is no
doubt hut much good will result.
An open session was declared and the
professor of tin* Union High school of
P leasant Hill gave a very instructive
talk for th ir ty minutes, when a class
of sixtee n w ere instru c ted in the r>th
degree and the topics again resum ed
until the supper hour, when a recess
was declared and the b anquet room was
again tilled and ttu- good things made
to disappear. A fte r sup|>er an evening
session w a ss a ile d , and the topics again
ta k e n up, while the local lecturer was
a rra n g in g a p rogra m and calling in
some outside ta le n t. The program was
rendered with applauac und much c r e d ­
it to the p articip a n ts, a f t e r which a
few oth e r d etails uf minor im portance
were disjiosed of and luneh, consisting
of cake ami lemonade was served at
10:30. The company th e n dispersed,
going to their h lines and to the places
assigned to the visitors, all feeling
th a t they had been well repaid for
th e ir d a y 's experience.

prum a while the labor connected with
grow ing them is not so g r e a t. T here
are no d estroying pests, and a crop is
always ce rtain . Those in te reste d in
the proposition will do well to ta k e the
m a tte r up with Mr. R ust and g e t any
inform ation th a t may he desired.
