Ayer's Hair Vigor keeps tie hair soft and pliant, imparts to it the lustre end freshness of youth, causes it to grow luxuriantly, eradicates Dandruff, cures all scalp diseases, and is the most clean ly of all hair preparations. flVCD'Q Hair Vigor has given me "si-ei perfect satisfaction. I was nearly bald for sis years, during which time I used many hair preparations, hut without success. Indeed, what littlo hair I had was growing thinner, until 1 tried Ayer's Hair Vigor. I used two bottles of tho Vigor, and my head is now w ell covered with a new growth of hair. Judson B. Chapel, Peabody, Mass. LI ASD that has become weak, gray. Ayer'3 Hair Vigor stopped the falling, and restored my hair to its original color. As a dressing for tho hair, this preparation has no equal. Mary N. Hammond, Stillwater, Minn. VflRfJR youth, and beauty, in tho W lUUllj appearance of tho hair, may tio preserved for an indefinite) period by the use of Ayer's Hair Vigor. "A (lis ease of tho scalp caused my hair to be come harsh and dry, and to fall out freely. Nothing I tried seemed to do mo any good until I commenced using Ayer's Hair Vigor. Threo bottles of this preparation restored my hair to a healthy condition, and it is now soft and pliant. My scalp is cured, and it is also freo from dandruff. Mrs. E. H. Foss, Milwaukee, Wis. Va. !tve's tn JOHN A.y rt MONTGOMERY Has a First Class STOCK. 0 w Tllfi UiBu States Every person who is a citizen of the United States, or has de clared his intention to become such, that is, the head of a family, over 21 years of age (male and female), has three rights to public lands; One timber culture, one pre-emption, and one homestead right. A timber culture right and a pre-emption right can be used at the same time by the same person, or a timber culture right and a homestead at the sairle time. A homestead right and a pre-emption cannot be used at the same time, and both require residence. A person who wishes to use his three rights, should first take a timber claim and pre-emption' after six months residence prove up by paying 1.25 per acre, or 2.50 per acre within railroad limits, then take a homestead, and that will give one person 4S0 acres of land. A pre-emption filing made prior to date of alleged settlement is not in accordance with the pre-emption law. Hence, to secure a pre-emption, the party should make settle ment on a piece of land and tender his declaratory statement and 3 for filing to the land office. A set tlement does not mean actual resi dence, but foundation for a house, plowing, digging a well or cellar to be followed up in good faith. The claimant should in person, not bv agent, start the erection of a house, or begin some other im provement on the land he selects before he makes a pre-emption filing. A homestead filing costs $1C, but within railroad limits $22. A soldier's homestead filing C. A person taking a homestead has six months to get on Ins land and erect a house. After five years resi dence he can prove up by paying &G or within railroad limits, $12, and cost of testimony in the proof. It costs 14 to file on a timber culture claim. The applicant is required to go and see the land, and make his affidavits within the land district. Five acres on a quatter section is required to be broken or plowed the first year, and five acres the second year. The second year the first five acres must be cultivated to crops or otherwise. The third year the sec ond five acres must be cultivated, and the first five acres must be planted to timber seeds, or cuttings. Ten acres are thus to be plowed, planted ana cultivated on a quar ter section, and the same propor tion when less than a quarter section is entered. Final proof can be made on a timber culture entry after the expiration of eight years of compliance with the law, and must be made within thirteen years from date of entry. It is re quired that 2,700 trees, tree seeds or cuttings be planted on each acre of the ten cultivated, and that at least G75 living and thrifty trees to the acr.e of the ten planted are growing at the time of proving up. Forest trees not fruit trees are required. A single woman must be 21 years of age to enter a homestead, make a pre-emption filing or a tim ber culture entry. A single wo man forfeits her pre-emption filing by marriage, but does not forfeit her homestead or timber culture entry by marriage, if thereafter she continues to comply with the law as to residence, improvements and cultivation. IC the food Is not properly digested it becomes corrupt, and poisons the system it is intended to nourish. This is indigestion. "Mv wife has suffered for many years with indigestion. After trying ei cry thing else recommended, she tried Sim mons Liver Regulator. In three days after taking it according to directions she was in perfect health; she does mt suffer at all and can eat anything she wants without any of her previous symptoms." W. CSimEns, Bainbridge, Ga. That oft asked question, "What is done with all the pins?" be comes more perplexing when coupled with the statement that tho factories of England, France, Holland and Germany produce about seventy seven million pins daily. Its concentrated curative power, make Ayer's Sarsaparilla the best blood purifier. 'The average income of a doc tor in Philadelphia is 'estimated at 1,200, and of a lawyer at 1,000." Philadelphia Record. Thoroughly test your cows and ! know whether they are paying or not. lieet the unprofitable ones. Kansas has 7,000,000 milch cows, ana witn a Duuer pront ot sau a cow they would represent a profit OI S2S,UUU,UUW During the agricultural dis couragements of the past few years many a farmer has found his hogs the most satisfactory p'roduce he has been able to place upon the markot. An autopsy on three cows that met mysterious deaths near De catur, III., revealed a quantity of twine almost a ball in the stom ach of each. The twine was of the kind used on otic of the farm machines. Poor, sandy soil should not be left uncultivated. Carefully pre pare the land, sow to buckwheat and plow the buckwheat in when the crop is in blossom. In this way the land may gradually be made productive. An ounce of ground bone daily for ten hens is sufficient. A quart of grain a day for ten hens is con sidered liberal feeding. Cooked turnips and potatoes with chopped clover, thickened with ground corn and oats, is excellent. The total value of the green fruits bought by the United States in Canada last year was 210,000, nearly the entire sum having been paid for apples of which 52,012 barrels were from Ontario, and 42, 151 were from Nova Scotia. An Illinois farmer has discover ed a)lan which he thinks will do away with the ncccssfy of dehorn ing cattle, lie applies a chemical to the germ of the horn while tho calf is very young, which stops the se cretion of horny .matter, this is probably just as painful as cutting out the germ with it gouge, how ever. A country, to be prosperous, must of necessity raise a variety of crops. A variety of crops is nec essary to carry on an intelligent and successful rotation so as to guard against soil exhaustion. Stock and poultry need a variety of food to maintain health and pro mote proper development of body and energy. Man himself needs a variety of food. D. W. Iluntsays: uWe are very apt to guage a cow's capacity bv what she does at her best. A cow that goes dry five months is likely to give a larger flow of milk when fresh than one that has not been dry at all. Even if the cow with the five month's test yields more milk and butter for a seven day's test than the other cow who has been a daily yielder of butter for years, it does noteprove the larger milker to be the better cow. Judged by the only true measure, viz: that of yearly profit to the dai- ryman, the constant milker is the cow that stands between him and bankruptcy. Safe and sure to regulate the bowels, Ayer's Cathartic Pills never fail to give satisfaction. Recommended by eminent phy sicians. Some one has asked, Where do flies go in winter?
