Yesterday was really tiio first clay that has appeared to blend spring I time in a, manner not to be separated j from the vernal season of summer. A day to remind one of trmit-tishinij, and inspire the wish to visit brook aides in the vicinity of the city. To many Asiortans there is nothing like summer until after they have seen at "ieaat one tioit glinting from their Itooks in the sheen of the April sun, and tkis claas inav now be seen ad justing their rods overhauling th .: tackle, and going in and out of ti stores where tackle In sold. Eve?; one of them has the day and hour ii his mind when he will cast his hoo, for the first time into a mountain stream, the name of which lie never mentions above a whisper. For him the summer has not come until he can inveigle the iirst trout from under a shelving rock. "Until that time it is the winter of his discontent, lie can not be won over with spring chickens nor a demonstration of straw hats and linen dusters. But for most of us the summer lias already come. The days ! are lomrer than the niffhts. The sum- !mer solstice, indeed, came in on the 21st of March, when, in northern lati tudes, tli " equinoctial " was expect ed a rousing storm, thai blow down chimneys, broke great branches from overhanging beees, brought a high tide, with some shipwrecks, and set -all the old men in that quaint and sleepy town to telling stories of the great equinoctial gales which occurred half a century ago. There is no equi noctial storm on this coast of any sig nificance. The last heavy rain of the season usually comes about that time, and sometimes there is the zest of two or three peals of thunder. The sum mer season, however, is generally clearly indicated by an attack "spring fever," which makes the in dulgence of an hour longer in bed a positive luxury, and the proverb about ihc earl'' bird getting the worm positively hateful ; and that time Ie just about now. y 3E Adopta T Sitia II Gaetoird J Jhtntolams J C Weston G Louilnto T Christriison J T Head r Finsley, Devlin CLI Harkans F Desivis (' Ante .1 Fa-oe M Saratccs J Jenkins, A AP Co C .Broun .1 Wart G Alexandra Jlleenan C Wedestrom W Jeffcry S Beitts .7 Pratt C Smith CW Stafford J Dauney G Pero C S Fentrcen, W II .1 C LednHI.ll P CoA Hilstron C .MaletiHi .1 Thom j)6on F Currey (' "Iarrney Irnnt : Williamson at, Jones ' mltman Erikdon .ellvnau .'Hereon .1 :uiah A J Peterson A M iinsctfi 0 S Gael he C Penetv A OIami 1) Haynolds G lAiesgunl N Fa 111 let G La pin W Ulaek C Samenklison L Serni C Lapjela (' Angk K Kknlln F Smith G Adams .1 Golima F Johnstoir Andrew Jaliar J Juaston.
