Karen comes from the Fres- no area, where she worked with the sheriff ’s department there. Joseph is an advocate in the Crisis Assistance Unit, assist- ing clients with housing and utilities as well as those ex- periencing homelessness. He has an extensive background in counseling and case man- agement. In addition, Michaela Ol- ivieri has moved from the positon of Crisis Assistance Advocate to the position of Housing & Utility Assistance Program Manager that was made vacant with the de- parture of Tim Weese. Tim moved to the Salem area to manage a housing assistance program there. Karisa McDonell fills a new position, Resource De- velopment, and is writing for grants and social media ac- counts in addition to assisting our bookkeeper. A new website has launched at www.florencesos. org, providing greater ease of access to resources for cli- ents and more user-friendly means of donating online. Clients can contact an ad- vocate directly through the website or find information on how to connect on the phone or in person. Donors can contribute with added ease with the donation portal powered by PayPal. Plus, SOS’ accounts on Facebook and Instagram are now live as the agency catch- es up with the ever-increasing popularity of social media communications. The agency has learned more people are looking to social media for resources. This new Social media engagement will in- crease exposure to potential clients and keep the commu- nity updated on the service provided here at Siuslaw Out- reach Services.
