This will be a collection of original dog paintings where Yuga captures the love, personality and all-knowing eyes of her sub- jects. “I want to make art that pulls you in, so you can’t stop looking,” said Yuga. The Florence artist attributes her discov- ery of art to her father. “My dad walked in the door with an arm- ful of art supplies when, as an adult, I con- tracted the chicken pox,” she explained. “I didn’t know then that something big had just happened. Something that would change the way I see the world around me. I didn’t know that my preoccupation with color, il- lumination, energy, shapes, paint and brush- es would be with me into gray hair. Anyone can nominate their own or another business who they believe adds im- portant value to the com- munity. This prestigious event recognizes excellence in the local business commu- nity by naming recipients for awards in Excellence in Customer Service, Curb Ap- peal, Non-Profit Achieve- ment, Community Caring, Innovation in Business and the Stu Johnston Business of the Year Award.
