See Wings & Wheels page 7A By Jared Anderson Siuslaw News Several fires broke out in the Siuslaw region on Monday, with Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue (SVFR) responding to calls from Greentrees Village, Booth Island and Taylor Road off of Highway 101. No injuries were reported, and all fires were extinguished. “It was busy,” Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue (SFVR) and West- ern Lane Ambulance District’s (WLAD) Chief Michael Schick said. “It goes to show how much we rely on our volunteers. They’re the backbone of our response. The 20-acre, multi-use park is centrally located off of Oak and 20th streets and is slated for a major facilities upgrade in the weeks to come. Miller Park, as it is common- ly referred to, has four baseball fields, two softball fields, two playgrounds, a skate park, a bas- ketball court, picnic pavilions and restrooms.
