Presented by “Team Leah,” with the blessing of her family, the Remembering Leah Benefit Per- formance will take place at the Flor- ence Events Center, 715 Quince St., at 2 p.m. The idea arose from a conversation with 15-year-old Nyah Vollmar, an up-and-coming singer from Florence who has signed on with InRage En- tertainment. According to her family, Nyah wanted to hold a benefit show to raise money for the community. Honoring Leah was a natural choice, as Leah’s guidance helped encour- age both Nyah’s career and that of her younger brother, Jonah. Nyah has put together a 60-minute set, featuring some of her original songs and duets with Jonah, her friend William Owens and her former vocal coach Ja- Tuesdays Yoga for Pain Management Sponsored by PeaceHealth Peace Harbor 2 to 3:15 p.m.; Free and drop-ins welcome Yoga mats and other equipment supplied Lane Community College Florence Center Contact Instructor Mary McNutt at 541- 964-5341 Florence Farmers Market From May 14 to Oct. 15 3 to 6 p.m.; open to public Intersection of Bay and Kingwood streets in Historic Old Town Florence Peace Harbor Farm Stand Collaboration between PeaceHealth, Trillium Community Health Plan and FOOD for Lane County Fresh, seasonal vegetables and fruits free to people with OHP or who qualify for food assistance PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Medical Center, 400 Ninth St. Yoga At The Blue Warehouse With instructor Dave Graff 6 to 7:15 p.m. | $10/session The Blue Warehouse, 80 Harbor St. Summer Reading Family Movie Night 6 to 8 p.m.; open to children and families Siuslaw Public Library District Siuslawlibrary.info Wednesdays Fun Connections Playgroup For parents and children 5 and under 9:30 to 11 a.m. Open to families of young children Pregnancy & Parenting Center, 1525 12th St., Suite G Points of Grace Community Acupuncture Experience relief from pain and stress 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; donations appreciated 1845 Highway 126 Yoga At The Blue Warehouse With instructor Tracy Markley 6 to 7:15 p.m. | $10/session The Blue Warehouse, 80 Harbor St. Florence Testing for HIV and HepC — 2nd and 4th Fridays Hosted by Alliance for Men’s Wellness and HIV Alliance 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Free to public PeaceHealth Oregon Cardiology, 310 Ninth St. Live Music at Three Rivers 7 to 11 p.m.; 21+ Blue Bills Sports Bar at Three Rivers Casino Resort Saturdays Jerry’s Place Pool Tournament 1:30 p.m.; $5 buy-in Not held during Rhody Weekend Jerry’s Place, 88274 Rhododendron Dr. Live Music at Three Rivers 7 to 11 p.m.; 21+ Blue Bills Sports Bar at Three Rivers Casino Resort Sundays 2019 Yachats Farmers Market May to October | 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Yachats Commons yachatsfarmersmarket.webs.com Thursdays Women’s Empowerment A safe space for encouragement, life skills 4 to 6 p.m.; open to women Siuslaw Outreach Services, 1576 12th St. Call 541-997-2816 Yoga At The Blue Warehouse With instructor Tracy Markley 6 to 7:15 p.m. | $10/session The Blue Warehouse, 80 Harbor St. Community Chorus of Florence 7 to 8:30 p.m.; open to new members Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw, 3996 Hwy 101 541 997-3469, www.communi- tychorusflorenceoregon.org Fridays Blast-Off: STEM for Kids 3 to 4 p.m.; open to grades 2 to 6 Siuslaw Public Library District July 6 10th Annual Wings and Wheels Car Show & Fly-In 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; open to public Suggested $2 donation per person (under 12-free) with proceeds supporting Florence-Siuslaw Lions Club and SHS Wrestling Florence Municipal Airport Oregon Coast Military Museum 4th Anniversary Celebration 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; open to public Oregon Coast Military Museum, 2145 Kingwood St. PHOTOS BY KATHLEEN WENZEL Young singer Nyah Vollmar is work- ing with community members to per- form a benefit concert for Leah Good- win, who managed shows, concerts and plays from behind the scenes of the Florence Events Center. son Wood.
