He was born Oct. 27, 1921, in San Di- ego, Calif., to Frank and Bessie Culy. Paul joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served in com- bat during W o r l d War II on the D.E. 23 U.S.S. Charles R. Greer as a S onarman Second Class. P a u l Paul Culy married June Loret- ta McCann in 1947 and they shared 52 years together. Paul was a partner in Culy Transportation, the family trucking business started by his father. After, he continued working in the transportation business until his retirement. Paul and June moved to Flor- ence in 1998 from Santa Maria, Calif. Paul served as the Flor- ence Senior Center president from 2007 to 2011. His lead- ership was instrumental in the funding and construction of the current senior center on King- wood Street. Paul is survived by daughter Barbara Caswell of Santa Ma- ria, Calif.; sons Douglas Culy of Fresno, Calif., Brian Culy of Florence and Patrick Culy of Sweet Home, Ore.; and 10 grandchildren. Paul is proceeded in death by his loving wife, June Culy; and parents Frank and Bessie Culy and four brothers. Paul was well loved in his community and will be missed by many. At his request, pri- vate cremational rites were held through Burnss’s Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home with inurnment at Pacific Sun- set Cemetery. BROMLEY—Sadly, Trudy Arbogast-Bromley passed away on March 28, 2019. Trudy was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on May 20, 1946. She grew up in Minnetonka Minn. Trudy was married to David Bromley until his passing in 1990. Tr udy and Dave owned and operated a Plumbing Trudy business for Bromley many years in Carver Minn., where Trudy had var- ious jobs working as a book- keeper until they were offered a chance to run the Roto Rooter division in Tacoma, Wash. They settled in Tacoma for a couple of years until their trans- fer to the Hawaii division on the Island of Oahu. After Dave’s passing, Trudy moved back to Minnesota and eventually ended up in Winona, Minn., where she and her life partner, Ray Lint, started a sign-making business. When her daughter, Ginny Verville, moved to Ore- gon, she and Ray also decided to settle there along with her mother, Harriet Arbogast. Trudy loved her home in Florence, where she enjoyed helping Ginny at her pet grooming shop. She loved the beautiful flowers, (Rhododen- drons) blooming in the early spring and all of the small town festivities Florence has each year. Trudy is survived by her mother, Harriet Arbogast; daughter Ginny Verville; Gin- ny’s husband Paul; son Jeff Bromley; Jeff ’s wife, Tina; grandchildren Jeremy and Mis- sy Bromley; her life partner Ray Lint; two beautiful dogs, Pony and Belle; and many other fam- ily and friends. We LOVE you Trudy and will miss you dearly. Services will be held in Minnesota. Burns’s Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. PIER- S O N — With deep regret, we announce the pass- ing of Pau- lette Pier- son, 83, of Florence. Paulette S h e leaves be- Pierson hind her loving husband of 48 years, Richard Pierson. She is survived by her be- loved children: Paula Blackwell, Kenneth Slack and Julie Slack; her brother Robert Endres; nieces Diana Farthing and Jan- ice Groben; and nephew John Giberson. Paulette was beautiful, funny, kind, loving and generous. She loved visiting with her family. When we were all together, she could be heard joking, laughing and telling stories. She enjoyed gardening and playing Bunko with her friends at Green Trees. She loved the girls joking and witty banter. She also enjoyed occasional visits to Three Riv- ers Casino. Paulette was a lucky person and more often than not came home a winner. A few years back, the beauti- ful forest next to her home was demolished by developers, leav- ing behind 40 acres of stumps, dead wood and dug-up earth. About that time, we began to see her decline. She felt dev- astated and helpless, knowing there was nothing she could do about it. The following year, a fire broke out in the dead wood left from the forest, nearly resulting in the loss of her home. After enduring these events, she still loved seeing her flowers bloom, caring for and protecting them just as she did her family. We will always hold her dear to our hearts, and are forever thankful for the time we had together, and for the love we all shared. Burns’s Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home was en- trusted with arrangements. FA R M E R — C o n s t a n c e Farmer, 94-plus years old, went to be with the LORD! K i n d , sweet, lov- ing and hard-work- ing, she was mar- ried 45 years to Constance Ray Reyn- olds. She Farmer was very proud of their 6 children. Her joy was that her children were doing well and loved each other. She talked and bragged about them all. Their children are: Dan, Joyce, Julie, Steven, June and Nancy. They raised the last 5 children on a ranch in Cave Junction, Ore., where Constance enjoyed gardening and oil painting. She was custodian at Illinois Valley High School in Cave Junction for nine years. She had a way with kids and many students called her “mom.” She had nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. After Ray died, she married Elvin “Jack” Farmer. They were married 20 years in Florence, Ore. They enjoyed dancing, friends and some traveling. Constance volunteered a lot for her church, the hospital, garden club, Moose Lodge, the Elks Lodge and went to Coastal Fit- ness senior class. Her last 9 years were spent living with eldest daughter Joyce in Salem. Daughter Nan- cy also helped care for their Going Out Of Business mom. She enjoyed her senior fitness class at 24-Hour Fitness and her Respite group at the se- nior center Club 50+. She was preceded in death by her brother Warren, half-sister Arda, half-brother Lloyd, broth- er-in-law Dale and many more. She is missed deeply. Constance is best described by 1 Corinthi- ans 13: 4-8. A celebration of her life was held March 30 at United Methodist Church.
