The shelter will be at the Presbyterian Church, 3996 Highway 101. Registration begins at 5 p.m. each night, with supper served at 6 p.m. Transportation to the shelter will be available from the Siuslaw Public Library, Safeway and Fred Meyer from 5 to 6 p.m. The announcement flags will be placed near the pick up spots on Wednesday and Thursday morning. In early January, the Flor- ence Garden Club donated $100 to the Paradise, Ca- lif., Garden Club to assist in rebuilding after the de- structive forest fires last year. Thanks to donations, The Paradise Garden Club plans to plant 1,200 hya- cinth bulbs in the shape of an arrow pointing to the town of Paradise. It was stated that the Florence Garden Club do- nation would help keep the Paradise Garden Club running until they can plan a fundraiser to replace the garden tour that usually provides funds for schol- arships. Many of the Para- dise Garden Club members have left, with three for- mer Paradise Garden Club members currently living in Florence. Those interested in gar- dening are invited to join the Florence Garden Club which meets at noon the second Wednesday of each month at the Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw, 3996 Highway 101 in Florence. WLAD seeks Budget Committee Member applications due by March 15 The Western Lane Am- bulance District (WLAD) Board of Directors invite applications from residents interested in serving on the WLAD’s Budget Committee. Interested persons should obtain an application from the SVFR station located at 2625 Highway 101, or from the WLAD website at www. westernlaneambulance.com. Applications will be ac- cepted until 5 p.m., Friday, March 15. After the review of applica- tions, the WLAD Board will appoint members at their March 20 joint board meet- WEDNESDAY THURSDAY ing. Applicants must be reg- istered voters residing within the WLAD district. The Budget Committee is a standing committee of five members that sits joint- ly with the WLAD Directors to publicly review and revise the annual budget. The Bud- get Committee approves the budget, permanent tax rate and local option levy. The budget then goes to the WLAD Board of Direc- tors to be adopted. Committee members serve three-year terms which expire on Dec. 31. A Bud- get Committee member is expected to spend up to 20 hours that includes review- ing the budget and meeting one to three times from April through June each year.
