This con- tracted position is for one year. The development specialist will work to create a blueprint for sustainable fundraising, grants acquisition, publicity, and financial management. The development special- ist will work with the board to plan fundraisers, both passive and active, so watch for news of these. On Saturday, Oct. 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., join the community for great food and family fun. Enjoy traditional music as games will be held throughout the day at the Florence Events Center, 715 Quince St. Bratwurst, beer and wine will be served by the Friends of the Florence Events Cen- ter and Florence Regional Arts Alliance. The Wiener Dog Races, annually spon- sored by the Siuslaw News, will be a high- light of Okto-Fur-Fest. Every year, these fierce competitors go head-to-head — or perhaps head-to-tail — starting at 1 p.m. Entry to Okto-Fur-Fest is $2.
