SILETZ RIVER: Steelhead, spring Chinook, cutthroat trout Summer steelhead are in the river. Fishing is slow but will one of four criteria, in- cluding athletic accom- plishment during and/or beyond high school; team success or achievement; contribution to the ath- letic program and its suc- cess as a private citizen; as an outstanding district employee; or academic achievement beyond high school. Girls of summer... softball improve over the coming weeks. The river is in good condition. Casting spinners, drifting bait or using a bobber and jig can be effective. Spring Chinook are avail- able in the Siletz. Be aware of the regulations for the Siletz, 1 wild Chinook per day and two for the season from April 1 – July 31. Trout fishing in streams and river open on May 22. (Note: The 3.5 mile bridge (aka Steel Bridge) in the Siletz gorge is now open to motor- ized vehicles, but is only open to public vehicles on the week- end. COOS COUNTY LAKES/ PONDS: Trout These lakes and ponds are now listed individually in the alphabetical listing. Spring trout stocking begins around March 1 (see stocking sched- ule). Today, SBSA 12U and 14U softball is hosting a doubleheader against Bandon, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Siuslaw High School. It will be the last home appearance for both teams this season. She also won the state 4A girls title in the 800 meters, was fi ft h at state in the 3,000 meters, won district titles in both the 3,000 meters and 800 meters, and was a member of the district championship girls cross country team, placing second individually. Rannow carries a 4.0 GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society and is Lieutenant Governor for the Key Club’s Division 76. Dominic Wells Name: Kyle King School:Siuslaw High School Siuslaw senior Kyle King was named to the Far West All League team in basketball and competed for Siuslaw in the long jump, tri- ple jump and as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team. Academ- ically, he holds a 3,73 GPA and is a member of the Interact Club, National Honor Society, Kindness Club and Academic Honor Roll.
