weeks. The river is in good
condition. Casting spinners,
drifting bait or using a bobber
and jig can be effective.
Spring Chinook are avail-
able in the Siletz. Be aware of
the regulations for the Siletz, 1
wild Chinook per day and two
for the season from April 1 –
July 31.

The Siuslaw Baseball and Softball Association con-
tinued play last Thursday (above) with the 12U soft-
ball team hosting Coos Bay. Today, SBSA 12U and 14U
softball is hosting a doubleheader against Bandon, at
10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Siuslaw High School. It will be
the last home appearance for both teams this season.

School:Siuslaw High School
of the year
Siuslaw sophomore Hannah Rannow claimed the school record in
the mile run, breaking her own record in the same season. She also
won the state 4A girls title in the 800 meters, was fi ft h at state in the
3,000 meters, won district titles in both the 3,000 meters and 800
meters, and was a member of the district championship girls cross
country team, placing second individually. Rannow carries a 4.0
GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society and is Lieutenant
Governor for the Key Club’s Division 76.

Name: Kyle King
School:Siuslaw High School
Siuslaw senior Kyle King was named to the Far West All League
team in basketball and competed for Siuslaw in the long jump, tri-
ple jump and as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team. Academ-
ically, he holds a 3,73 GPA and is a member of the Interact Club,
National Honor Society, Kindness Club and Academic Honor Roll.
