From Coldwell Banker Coast Real Estate 5101 Colter Street PHOTOS BY MARK BRENNAN/SIUSLAW NEWS O regon Coast Military Museum (OCMM) hosted a “Jeep Show and Shine” on June 17 at Johnston’s Motors on Highway 101. OCMM Executive Director Cal Applebee said the important place the Jeep holds in military history was the reason for the show. Dozens of Jeeps from several eras were on display at the event. “It was a mission-specific event for OCMM: to celebrate the birth of the Jeep in World War II, and the iconic vehicle it has become today,” Applebee said. “I got a lot of positive com- ments that day, and Johnston Motors was very pleased with the event. We are already committed to holding it again.” Visit OCMM at 2145 Kingwood St. in Florence or go online to www.oregoncoastmilitarymuseum.com.
