SIUSLAW NEWS ❚ SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2017 Soon the country will cele- brate Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, Feb. 14, with flow- ers, candy and dinner out. But not everyone is lucky in love, and Florence Regional Arts Alliance (FRAA) celebrates the other side — love gone wrong. On Saturday, Feb. 18, at 6:30 p.m., poets and songsters will regale the audience with their original poems and songs about heart break, rejection and all other woes of the forlorn at “Love Gone Wrong.” Sally Wantz, emcee for the event said, “We laugh, we cry, we hand out tissues, we give hugs, we vote on our favorite song/poem and have a won- derful time at this event. You won’t want to miss it!” Tickets can be purchased for $10 at the FRAA Art Center, 120 Maple St. in Old Town Florence, or at the door, and poets/songsters can sign up to perform at the FRAA Art Center or that evening if space is available. All proceeds go to support the Big Wave Poetry Festival, a statewide event held in Florence on May 12 and 13. For more information, go to www.fraaoregon.org.
