The grants are funded from voter-approved lottery Boys and Girls Club of Western Lane County is look- ing for teens, ages 14 to 18, to be paid referees for its Rip City Academy Basketball Season. They must have a basic knowledge of basketball and will need to participate in a half-day referee course on Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Teen Center. Once trained, referees will receive a stopwatch, whistle and referee jersey, along with a per-game stipend. Referees must be available on Saturdays beginning Jan. 21, through Feb. 25.
