6 A SIUSLAW NEWS ❚ WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2016 Gallery features photographic duo The Gallery Above The Silver Lining Boutique will feature Patrice Lampton and Stephen Jones with their extraordinary photography of nature. “Their photographs bring you so close to the natural world you will feel transported to each and every location,” said Kimberly Fleenor, owner of Silver Lining. “You can almost smell the ozone from the clouds and rain, you can feel the warmth of the subtle sun, you can hear the multi- tude of drops from the amaz- ing creeks and waterfalls.” A champagne reception will be on the Second Saturday Artwalk, Sept. 10, between 3 and 5 p.m. “These photos truely exem- plify the physical experience of actually being in these spots they have captured on film and canvas,” said Fleenor. Lampton and Jones moved from Portland to Florence three years ago, enjoying hik- ing, kayaking and photograph- ing the serenity and beauty of the area. Jones is a veteran photo- journalist, educator, wedding, commercial and documentary photographer. He also enjoys playing guitar and drinking really dark coffee. Lampton joined Jones 17 years ago and quickly became a full-time shooting partner. She is also managing editor of Aaronstadt Studios, the com- pany started by the couple in 2001. In Portland, their studio was a major player in the wedding photography market, averaging 45 to 65 weddings a year. Also, when they found time, they assisted managing four other two-person teams. “They are both dedicated, diligent, creative and exceed- ingly busy artists,” said Fleenor. “I am honored that they have carved out the time to share their enormous body of work with us.” Although they still shoot weddings, Jones and Lampton admit to being more enam- oured with the natural beauty surrounding them every day in Florence.¸ “I encourage everyone to come enjoy this special and spectacular show being offered throughout the month of September,” said Fleenor.
