This running sport competes mostly in state parks in various locations, with a focus on natural sur- faces and trails. “The goal of our team is to make individual improve- ments while mixing in some fun,” Krause-Campbell said. Practices are a mix of run- ning form practice, core strengthening, running games and endurance training. The season runs from late August through late October. Required practices will begin Monday, Aug. 29, and a schedule will be set soon. Each student must have the following completed at the middle school to be able to participate in those practices: Sports physical (done with a physician) and online regis- tration. The middle school office will be ready to help with that process, as well as school Siuslaw News O n the surface, Ron Bresser’s chosen sport seems to be in juxtaposition to his warm and welcoming personality.
