Simpson to make the city of “North Bend” official. To commemorate this event, North Bend will be celebrating the July Jubilee during the weekend of July 15 and 16. The theme this year, “North Bend Gateway to the Bay Area,” is a reminder of days gone by and the many struggles the area has gone through to survive, overcome adversity and thrive. This year marks the 80th commemora- tion of the McCullough Bridge, as well as 100 years for the Coos Bay Rail Line and the 100-year anniversary for Simpson and Ferry Road Parks.
