Celebrate city’s
incorporation at 2-day
event, July 15-16
NORTH BEND — This year will be
the 113th year since incorporation papers
were filed by L.J. Simpson to make the
city of “North Bend” official.
To commemorate this event, North
Bend will be celebrating the July Jubilee
during the weekend of July 15 and 16.
The theme this year, “North Bend
Gateway to the Bay Area,” is a reminder
of days gone by and the many struggles
the area has gone through to survive,
overcome adversity and thrive.
This year marks the 80th commemora-
tion of the McCullough Bridge, as well
as 100 years for the Coos Bay Rail Line
and the 100-year anniversary for
Simpson and Ferry Road Parks.
North Bend and the bay area have
gone through the labor pains of establish-
ing the infrastructures and outer struc-
tures which include the building of ships,
airport, railway, bridges, schools and
