A past winner of the presti- gious Seattle International Comedy Competition, Rutledge has made television appearances on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, Nickelodeon and the national- ly syndicated Comedy.TV and Comics Unleashed. He is also a frequent guest on the Bob and Tom radio show, heard in more than 150 cities. Gabriel has performed at the HBO/TBS Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in Atlanta, Ga., the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, Ore., and the Great American Comedy Festival held in Johnny Carson’s hometown of Norfolk Neb. It’s not often the world spits out a 6-foot-9 softcore misan- thrope with a heart of gold; in fact, Nelson may be one of a kind in that regard. Travis has been featured on Rooftopcomedy.com and has worked with nationally known commedians, such as Shane Mauss and Ryan Stiles. Six participants listened to the book, then washed their hands, cracked eggs and stirred the mixture. Library Director Meg Spencer assisted Waiss and parent helpers in cooking and serving green eggs and ham to the children. Based in Minneapolis, Minn., Kling describes his zodiac as “Minnesota with Iowa rising” and brings a unique Midwestern flavor to his stories that will feel espe- cially familiar to fans of the movie “A Christmas Story” storytelling festivals, resi- dencies, and has performed at the acclaimed National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tenn. The National Endowment for the Arts, The McKnight Foundation, The Minnesota State Arts Board, The Bush Foundation, and The Jerome Foundation have all provided funding and grants in recognition of Kling’s unique artistry.
